Nine Years Old Freedom

Threat to the dying, suffering humanity
One from ‘Kirkuk’
Seven from ‘Anbar’
Two from Baghdad and the outskirts
Ten dangerous, ruthless juveniles they were.

A woman in Kadhimiya felt proud
As the guard opined…
Among the ten terrorists, her only son
Nine years old,
Was “the most dangerous one”.

A little while back, when
They came looking for his father
The kid had said,
“My father can’t take it,
Take me instead”.
So they took the nine year old
Along with
His nine years old
Freedom.

Thanks batty. I feel there exists room for improvement. However, what is important is the fact that the poem is based on real events.
